Just one week after Stoke City Ladies Reserves won the League cup, the Development team appeared in the final of the Staffordshire League Cup. A tense nervous first half might have been different had it not been for a superb goalkeeping display from the Abbey Hulton goalkeeper. The teams went in 0-0 at half time but the deadlock was finally broken in the 56th minute when top goalscorer Jodie Foxhall slotted the ball home from an Emma Henderson cross. Amy Cassidy in the Stoke goal also made a couple of fabulous saves to keep Stoke in the game. The final score 1-0 to a young development side who in their first year of existance very nearly won the League & Cup Double - A stunning achievement. Cassisy, Dixon, Ward, Kerr, Henderson, Brough, Robinson (C), Garratt, Boal, Shandley, Foxhall Celebrations were held that night including a few alcoholic drinks for those that were old enough before the squad flew out the following morning for some warm weather training in Lanzarote.
