Keele Tournament   Ladies Squad       Stoke City Ladies entered two teams into the 2011 Keele Cup. The first team went into the Elite group and the reserves into the Women’s open age. The first team found themselves in a really tough group which included Preston, Wolves and Everton but finished second in the group just losing narrowly to Everton. Sadly in the knock-out stages the girls found themselves up against a very strong Sunderland side so bowed out in the semi final. Sunderland went on to beat Manchester City in the final. The reserves also found themselves in a tough group which included Manchester City and an American college Brebeuf Jesuit. The girls progressed through to the plate final beating Northwich Vixens in a tense penalty shoot out with Justine Lewis being the hero with a superb save tipped over the bar. In the final they ended up playing Brebeuf Jesuit a second time and played superbly to grab the trophy with a 3-1 win. Goals from Lucy Bailey, Gail Pennington and a screamer of a free kick from Holly Fowell.
