Nottingham Tournament   Ladies Squad      The Keele Cup Tournament moved from Keele to the Riverside Sports Complex in Nottingham to become the Nottingham Cup. Stoke Ladies entered two teams into the 2015 tournament with mixed fortunes. Although the weather was good on Saturday, it pretty much rained most of the day on Sunday. The first team however performed superbly in all conditions beating Guiseley, Derby and then Notts Forest to go through to a second stage group. They then beat Derby again and the British Army before finishing off with a draw against Wolves to win the group and therefore the Nottingham Cup. The Reserve team were placed into the recreational group against strong opposition and went through on Sunday to play in the Sporting Plate semi final against Harlow Town. Despite winning 5-0 the ladies were kicked off the park by the Harlow team with no protection from the referee and an argument ensued at the end of the game where the referee incredibly offered to fight with the coaching staff. The organisers chose to believe whatever story the referee had come up with and disqualify Stoke Ladies Reserves and award the final to Birkenhead. Unbelievable Jeff!
