STOKE CITY LADIES RESERVES claimed their second successive League title in Style with an impressive performance away at the The New Saints. The Potters needed just a point from their last three games to take the title but ran out 9-1 winners to complete the League and Cup Double. Goals from Molly Bruton, Tash Tezgel, Sophie Taylor and Bruton again put Stoke into a 4-1 lead at half time and almost put the league title in place but a professional second half performance with goals from Kivel, Iddenden, Wellings and a couple from the League leading scorer Emily Curteis ensured a victory that sealed the title and prompted cork popping scenes at the final whistle. The Reserves have been a joy to work with over recent years but the results in 2017/18 have shone brightly in a league that they can reach no higher. To win the league and cup double and produce a goal difference of +105 (more than 50 above the second placed team when teams play their first team at the end of the season to try and stop you winning the league is truly remarkable. That also doesn’t include 6-0 away wins at Cardiff who pulled out of the league after the win when one of your strikers scores probably the fastest hat trick in history (4 mins)
